Добрый день!
Подскажите, пожалуйста, как вы для машины создавали в 3D Max’е (если это было сделано в нём) трубы, гнули их?

Sorry I don't speak russian, so I had to use automated translator : here's what I've got : "Good day!
Can you please tell how you set up the machine in 3D Max'e (if it was made in it) pipes, bent them?"

So the answer is simple : no I can't tell you how to do in 3DS Max because I use Blender only. Sorry, you should ask on www.smcars.net, a great online community about blueprints and car modeling. There is plenty of Max users there, they will answer your question easily. My SMCars nickname is tom120934, see you there ;)

Hi Tom,

Sorry to bother you again. Can you make it into a 3ds file. For GTL we need to make three different lower (and very low) poly models anyway to get it to work in game. I only am familiar with zmod at the moment and it would make it faster if I could start with a 3ds file.

Thanks

Hey, im really interested in taking a close look at teh Marcos. The file doesnt seem to download, any chance of getting a .3ds copy?

I'm sorry I can't offer you all the various 3D format you can think of. I specifically choose to use .blend format because 1/ it's open and 2/ software to read / convert it is widely available (www.blender.org) Also, converting it to a low-tech format like 3DS will make you loosing the use of the modifiers (surface subdivision, mirroring) and of the shaders.

Rpower, when saying "doesn't seem to download", do you really mean download or do you mean "unable to open the downloaded file" ? This is important to me, as I host the file (that is, it's not uploaded to a 3rd party file download service)

How many polys is this model?

This model is about 1.5 millions of polygons, so that means about 3 millions of tris.

It's by far unusable in a real-time engine. The team from the Historic GT and Touring Cars (HGT&TC, it's a rFactor-based mod) started a conversion of the very same model. You can reach them at http://historicgt.8.forumer.com/ to discuss how to merge work.
